October 2, 2006... Grain Valley, Missouri?s Brian Brown drove the Tim & Gina Doogs owned American Compressed Steel, Diablo Energy, Ditzfield Transfer No. 21 to an impressive victory Saturday night in ASCoT action at the Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Mo. The 27 year old driver started on the pole and utilized an aggressive move on an early race restart to steal the lead that he would never relinquish.
Earlier in the evening, the driver known as "Blackjack" started fifth in the second heat race and carved his way through the field to pick up the win and give him a front row starting spot in the Pole Dash. Brian was up to the challenge and checked out on the field to pick up the win and put the McKenna Truck Center, Yeager?s Harley Davidson, Ostrich powered Maxim on the pole of the 30 lap ASCoT feature event.
As the green flag waved at the start of the main Brian had his hands full with fellow front row starter Sean McClelland as the pair had a heated battle for the first few laps of the race. A caution flew on lap four and saw Brian sitting in the second position. "Blackjack" had his sights set on the lead on the restart and powered the No. 21 machine to the high side entering the first set of the corners and drove around McClelland off turn two to take command. Brian would go on to pick up the checkered flag and score his 14th win of the season.
This Saturday night it will finally be time to put an end to the 2006 Knoxville Raceway 410 season. After the main event was rained out on September 2nd, Knoxville officials decided to postpone the championship feature until October 7 which is the same night the World of Outlaws will compete at Knoxville making up a rain out from April. Brian currently sits second in the Knoxville Raceway 410 points and will head into the championship feature trailing point leader Billy Alley by 45 digits. Brian will start the race from the second row outside and Alley is set to start inside the fifth row. Three spots can determine the championship and Brian will be giving it his all as he looks for his 410 championship at Knoxville Raceway.
